More NSA leaks: how the NSA bends the truth about spying on Americans while insisting it doesn't spy on Americans

The memos are appendices to "Procedures used by NSA to target non-US persons" ( 1 , 2 ), and they detail the systems the NSA uses to notionally adhere to the law that prohibits them from spying on Americans. More importantly, they expose the "truth" behind NSA director James Clapper's assertion that "The statement that a single analyst can eavesdrop on domestic communications without proper legal authorization is incorrect and was not briefed to Congress." This turns out to be technically, narrowly true, but false in its implication, as  Declan McCullagh  explains on CNet: Clapper's statement was viewed as a denial, but it wasn't. Today's disclosures reveal why: Because the Justice Department granted intelligence analysts "proper legal authorization" in advance through the Holder regulations. "The DNI has a history of

Coach Oscar Tabarez will set out to record their first win of the tournament against the high flying African champions Group B leaders, Nigeria will have their hands full when they face Uruguay in their second game at the Arena Fonte Nova as they seek an early passage to the semi finals of the Fifa Confederations Cup. Though Stephen Keshi's side were 6-1 better than Tahiti in their opening game of the tournament, they received a barrage of criticisms no thanks to their wasteful expedition in front of the Polynesian country’s goal. fresh set back for APC

Barely six days after the merger party, the All Progressives Congress approached the Independent National Electoral Commission for registration, another political association, the All Progressive Congress of Nigeria, has threatened to sue over the APC acronym. National Secretary of APCN, Mr. Oguzie Ikechukwu, in Abuja on Thursday said his party would seek court order restraining INEC from approving the APC acronym for the All Progressives Congress. Ikechukwu said the APCN was relying on sections 2 and 5 of the Freedom of Information Act to ask INEC to furnish it with the names and applications of any other association laying claim to the APC acronym. He explained to journalists that the APCN had in a similar letter to INEC dated May 22 asked the commission to furnish it with the name of the group which it claimed had earlier applied for registration with such an acronym. The commission, had, as part of its party registration requirements, asked the APC, now APCN,
