Prayers
for Nigeria for the month of Ramadan
The month of Ramadan has begun and National Leader of the Congress for
Progressive Change, CPC, General Muhammadu Buhari called on Muslims to pray for
Nigeria for the sacred month ahead.
The beginning of Ramadan is bringing with it hopes for a better tomorrow
and a peaceful month ahead.
Vanguard writes Buhari wished the entire Muslim nation
a spiritually rewarding month of Ramadan, and added via Mr. Rotimi
Fashakin, “the Nigerian state is in peril as a result of self-inflicted wounds.
And we must pray fervently to Allah to grant us the peace to be able to chart a
meaningful way forward.”
The Chief Imam of the University of Nigeria, Nsukka Central Mosque,
Sheikh Adam Idoko, also called on Muslims in the country to use
the Ramadan period to pray for peace and unity.
Vanguard reports Idoko told the News Agency of Nigeria,
NAN, that with peace and unity, there would be cordial co-existence among the
religious groups which would help the country to move forward, promising
Muslims will be blessed abundantly for their sacrifice, by Allah.
“With peaceful co-existence and respect for one another among the
religious bodies, Nigeria will become the best country in the world. We should
all remember that God has a purpose for putting us together in this country,”
he said.
